Everyday, I'm posting a message on Twitter. That message will serve as the first (in bold) sentence for short written posts I have below.
Some battles we have to fight alone as these are trials specifically made for us. As much as we like others to be there to help us, nobody can live our lives for us.
We have all learned about the importance of teamwork. A good team can accomplish so much more than what a single person can do because a team has more time combined to complete a certain task. Yet, we will discover moments in our lives when we are alone and must move forward without expecting anyone to be there for us.
There will be trials that we must overcome alone because we want to define what sort of life we can live. When we become too reliant on other people, we soon learn that we are sacrificing parts of our independence. We no longer can decide on our own future because we are so used to asking for and listening to outputs of others.
Some of these trials might be personal battles like the loss of a loved one. Nobody can be in our shoes and know exactly how we feel about such a loss. Therefore, we must go through the stages of grief alone. Having support is great and all but no one else can help live through a stage for us so we don’t have to go through it.
These battles must also be fought alone because we must grow and improve. When others help us, we very likely ask them to cover our weaknesses. If we don’t do the things we’re terrible at, then we have no way of learning our limits. We will never know what we are capable of until we do the things we’re uncomfortable with.

Solitude can be difficult to cope with but we need it from time to time. It’s amazing how much work we can complete when we are in solitude without anyone there to distract us.
Many people don’t like solitude because it’s an indication that they are a loner or a social outcast. It’s usually very tough moving forward alone when you know that no one will be there if you stumble or fall. Meanwhile, we see other people with their friends who seem to be by their side all the time and feel envious of other people.
Yet, we can also overlook how important solitude is from time to time. We need some alone time to recharge and do the things we love without anyone there to judge and criticize us. Without other people there, we eliminate a big distraction that can easily prevent us from doing what matters to us like pursuing our dream.
When other people are present, we instinctively look to them for their opinion. We want to get praise from them and hate criticism. As a result, other people’s opinion matter so much that we cannot live our lives and do the things we know are good for us. In addition, we also feel like we’re being rude when we ignore people who we value.
For some of us, we might be experiencing solitude quite regularly in the early stages of our life. We feel like we don’t fit in with other groups and feel nothing more than an outcast. While we feel pain and suffering, we are also giving ourselves an opportunity to get a lot of work done because we don’t need to invest time in fostering the relationships that are required with friends.

When we are lonely, we grow envious of people who have others in their life. While the loneliness can be overwhelming, this feeling teaches us to treasure people better.
If we grew up being loners or outcasts, loneliness is a familiar companion in our lives. We’d rather have actual people as companions but that isn’t always possible. When we are in public, we feel envy towards people who have lots of friends and/or a lover. We wonder why the world is so unfair and give us so little while giving others so much.
The loneliness does teach us an important lesson about how painful it is to be lonely. Most people cannot handle solitude because they need social interaction with other people. Therefore, loneliness is a reminder that, once we find people who are willing to be part of our lives, we should treasure them greatly.
There are people in society who don’t know how fortunate they are. They have many people around them so loneliness is foreign to them. Since they take this for granted, they might do things that hurt those close to them. Only when they lose those precious to them do they realize their mistake. Sadly, it’s usually too late by then.
We learn to treasure people in two scenarios: either we lose them or we never have them in the first place. While the latter means we still have a chance to gain people precious to us, the former means we’ll have regrets as life don’t always give us second chances. For those who are lonely, know that the time will come when you find people you want in your lives and you’ll treasure them as you should.
